Then any number of diamonds and pearls.”

Princess Katrina and the Hair Charmer is a lovely fairy tale about a pretty little girl who did not feel like a princess because she did not have long blond hair but had tight knit curls. In the story she meets Zuri the Hair Charmer who is a kind of fairy godmother who teaches Katrina about the wonderful hairstyles she can make with her curly hair. She explains to Katrina by saying:

“Until today you never really know
The wonder of what your curls could do.
Now Zuri has taught you how with loving care
You can make an adventure of your beautiful hair.”

“Cornrows, plaits, braids large and small
Those fancy weaves,
We’ll try them all.”
